Minority Millennials Founder Dan Lloyd! Talks Voting & Empowering Black/Brown Communities!
Dan Lloyd is a dedicated social entrepreneur, political activist, mentor, keynote speaker, and founder of Minority Millennials. Since its inception in 2017, Minority Millennials has been committed to bridging the gap between policy & culture, helping hundreds of Black and Brown youth access jobs, build wealth, and become civically engaged. Standing firm on “Proof of Progress” the grassroots organization has been recognized as leaders in tackling dis-empowering narratives around majority minority communities and mobilizing the next generation with the tools necessary to become the decisions makers for their community. In addition to his advocacy work with Minority Millennials, Dan is also the Program Director for Accelerate Long Island, a collaboration among Long Island’s world class research institutions and its business community to commercialize research and create an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Dan is responsible for organizing networking events across Long Island for entrepreneurs and managing the Accelerate New York Seed Fund’s portfolio of 21 high-tech companies. As an advisor to the Town of Babylon’s Industrial Development Agency’s Economic Inclusion Initiative, Dan works to support the growth of early-stage minority businesses, getting them M/WBE certified and securing procurement contracts. Dan was recently elected to the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council Board and has served/ing on several Boards of Directors including the United Way of Long Island, CDC LI, Discover Long Island, the National Onshore Wind Training Institute, the Suffolk County Task Force for Police Reform, NAACP Central LI Branch, and the Urban League of LI. In 2022, Dan was recognized as one of City & State’s Top 40 under 40 non-profit leaders, Long Island Business News 40 under 40 and Blank Slate Media’s Nassau County 40 under 40. Dan holds a Bachelor’s in Finance from Rutgers University, and a Master’s in Public Policy from Stony Brook University.
